As a solo female traveler, I felt safe in this area. This hotel has the most affordable price during the time that I searched. The room was decent enough for short time. There was only one downside that they don’t have elevator. Fortunately, a staff I met was really helpful and even carried my suitcase upstairs for me. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you’re planning to stay in this area.

Top notch customer service! My flight into SF arrived early morning, and I was able to check in upon arrival, easy process, and staff is very kind. More impressive though is how wonderful the manager was after I had an unexpected injury, I broke my ankle during trip, and he called ahead to urgent care for me, assisted me with stairs, allowed a late check out to avoid airport issues, he was so kind. Wonderful customer service!!! Thank you! The location is perfect for exploring the city. Close to fisherman's wharf, aquatic cove, nearby restaurants, tour options, boating, everything! I traveled as a solo female, and I always felt safe in the hotel, the area, etc. Great trip (until the injury!) but I definitely want to return, and I definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms are small, but the hotel is quaint, charming, and a neat experience!

Loved my stay here. The hotel itself feels like a little piece of history. It is so beautifully decorated and well kept. It’s great value. The baths were also kept clean. Staff is very helpful whenever you need any support. All the walls were so packed with these amazing pictures and cultural artistry. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Punchline. Yes I would stay here again if I can book a room with a private bathroom. I was traveling alone. The room was clean the bed comfortable. It is not a luxury place but if on a budget this is just enough. It does test your tidy and organizational skills. Wi-Fi works well. Water pressure is good. Staff are friendly. There's a cafe across the street and a second down the street that have awesome coffee. There a Trader Joe's two blocks down for inexpensive lunch food and an excellent sandwich shop two blocks up the hill.

Loved this place! Super clean with a cute vintage feel. My room smelled fresh (not musty) and the staff were so kind and helpful. The room is small, but totally fine if you’re solo or out most of the time. Comfy bed and pillows too. Thanks for the great stay!

We had such a great stay. The amazing history of the hotel reminds us of the ones we stayed at in Europe. They kept the historic look intact and the place feels cozy. The staff were all fantastic and accommodating. We loved the coffee service as well. It was a nice bonus. We will definitely stay here again.

Very helpful staff. Thanks to Chirag and Dev and others for their helpful customer service. Great coffee options in the morning. Close to Trader Joe’s for yogurt and cheese etc which they can store in their fridge for you. Unexpected bonus was hearing the sea lions faintly in the distance at pier 39 a couple of times.

The rooms and shared bathrooms are kept clean. The hotel has a lot of charm. The staff are friendly. An unexpected pro is the fancy coffee machine in the lobby that’s included with the stay.

The rooms have great character and charm. There's not much more than a bed and a shared bathroom (both clean) but you're also not paying much either. Great if you need a place to sleep and you'll out all day.

My stay at San Remo Hotel in San Francisco was truly incredible. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is something special. The hotel has so much character and charm; it feels completely unique compared to anywhere else I’ve stayed, and it made the entire experience feel memorable in the best way. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite, and it completely exceeded expectations. Having a private rooftop terrace to ourselves, with sweeping views of the city skyline, was unreal. It felt like our own hidden escape above San Francisco; quiet, private, and honestly kind of dreamlike.
